My First Political Question

I am settled in here in my room. And today I was able to purchase a phone. I also tackled my first political question. I was asked about President Bush and why if some of the people are unhappy with their president why don't they hear about it. I guess it is probably not good foreign policy to have a nation viewed as divided and not behind their president and I agree. I am behind my country 100% because I benefit from its virtues.

Americans loud and far reaching media is what many people I have talked to thus far believe Americans to be. We do have a loud media, but I hope I can tackle that stereotype. It would be my pleasure. Every culture has its stereotypes and if I can be the American that changes minds I am honored to do so. Note to self, don't be loud and obnoxious. :)

Oh also in The Netherlands (not Holland, Holland is only a province) people do not say hi or make eye contact when passing each other even if they are the only two on a narrow sidewalk. I received some strange looks for that today.

Tomorrow I will get to tour the city and have my first introduction to my study program or programme as they spell it here.

Goedenavond!
